How do I get to B&B Gallery from the airport? |
| |
See the Contacts page for complete information.

Why does B&B Gallery require flight information? |
| |
Since we are small B&B and family owned, we would like to personally welcome you. We know it takes approximately 1 – 1.5 hours for you to collect your luggage, clear customs and take a taxi or public transportation to B&B Gallery. With the information you provide us we are able to plan to be here to greet you. Also, once you are airborne, it allows us to check your flight for unexpected delays. We do ask however that if your flight information changes before you depart that you please contact Susan at +316-1657-2466. |

Why do you charge for late arrivals? |
| |
It is meant to discourage late arrivals. No surprise there. This is not just a business; it is also our home. We do not have staff. We usually start working at 08:00 and think it is entirely reasonable that our workday should end at 23:00/11pm. |

 |
Our flight arrives at 22:00/10pm. Will we be able to get to the B&B before 23:00/11pm and avoid the late check-in fee?? |
| |
Most unlikely. We add 1.5 -2.0 hours to the scheduled arrival time.
If you have an evening flight arriving at 23:00/11pm, if that flight is on time, if you have only carry-on bags and if you take a taxi, you could get to the B&B by 11pm but we doubt it. But if your flight arrives at 21:30/09:30pm, you have a good chance at making it to the B&B before 23:00/11pm.
For flights arriving in the morning and during the day, it is likely to be closer to 2 hours, whether you take a taxi or a train. From the time the wheels touch the ground (arrival time) you must taxi to the gate, disembarque, take the very long walk to passport control and baggage collection and then, possibly, go through customs before you exit the secured area. Then you must find the taxi stand/buy a train ticket, wait for next taxi or train and then, 20-30 minutes later you will arrive in Amsterdam.

What is the cancellation policy? |
| |
We require 15 days notice of cancellation. If you give 15 or more days notice of cancellation, your deposit will be refunded, less any fees charged by the bank. If you give 14 or fewer days notice of cancellation, your deposit will not be refunded. To determine whether or not a refund is due, the day before your arrival date is counted as day 1 (one).
For every booking we accept, we turn away several others. Unlike hotels we never receive walk-up guests and we very seldom receive last minute bookings (bookings made within 30-45 days before the arrival date). Last minute cancellations have a significant impact on our business. We take our cancellation policy seriously. By sending your credit card details or sending a deposit payment by Paypal, you agree to accept the policy and to abide by it's terms.

Why is a credit confirmation required? |
| |
Almost all accommodations require that some credit card guarantee be made in case of cancellation or extreme damages. This is also required at B&B Gallery.

Are there restaurants and shopping nearby? |
| |
It is difficult to go more than 100 meters in Amsterdam without finding restaurant and shops! We are located near the Haarlemmerstraat and the Jordaan, both popular shopping areas plus on Saturdays we are near the Noorderkerk where they have an organic market and small brocante/flea market; the regular farmer’s market is one street behind the Noorderkerk on the Lindengracht. All of these are within a 2-5 minute walk from the B&B. There are several wonderful restaurants nearby on the Herenstraat, Brouwersgracht, Harlemmerstraat and around the Noorderkerk. |

Are there kitchen privileges? I would like to cook my own meals.? |
| |
The suite has a fully equipped kitchen and it is expected that the guests will probably cook meals.
There are no cooking privileges for the guests in the Double room. Keeping in mind that we serve breakfast to the guests in teh Double, guests in the double may store a few items in the refrigerator and can use the microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and kettle for snacks or meals brought in.

I arrive early in the morning. Is it possible to drop off my luggage?
|
| |
We do not take luggage in before 09:30. No exceptions. It is normally possible to store luggage between 09:30 and 21:00/9pm if you have an early arrival or late departure. There are rare occasions when appointments may preclude this service. If for some reason we cannot take your bags, there is a secure, 24 hour luggage depot at Centraal Station where you can leave your luggage until you can check-in. |

I depart much later than the 11:00 check-out. Can I leave my luggage with you when I check out and pick it up on my way to the station/airport? |

It is normally possible to store luggage between 09:30 and 21:00/9pm if you have an early arrival or late departure. There are rare occasions when appointments may preclude this service. Is there inexpensive parking nearby? |
| |
We recommend the Park and Ride at the Zeeburg or at the Olympisch Stadion. The cost is €6 per 24 hours for up to 4 days/96 hours. Then you will need to drive out and back in to continue recieving the €6 rate. You can then take the tram back to Centraal Station and walk back to the B&B. The website is:

The link below will take you to a .pdf document that is a Park + Ride brochure in both English (white background) and Dutch. It is a little older so the price is out of date:
